Starting

The purpose of this documentation and tutorial guide is to get you able to configure your new theme as soon as possible in a quick and easy way, we also introduce you to some of the most common functions and tasks when using this type of website. Firstly, we will make sure everything is ready to go for installation, then we will set the theme, and then we will cover some of the initial setup and customization options that you will most likely use.

Theme Requirements

PsyClone requires that your copy of WordPress be the latest version to avoid any possible incompatibility. If you are not sure of that, you can go to WordPress Repository and download the latest version, decompress the zip file so you can save it somewhere useful on your computer.

PsyClone also requires that you have the latest version of GRIFUS (4.0.3).

It is important that your version of Apache supports mod_rewrite so you can seamlessly configure permanent links and PHPMailer enabled on your hosting/server account for the report system to work.

Downloading PsyClone

To download PsyClone you must have a valid license/purchase. Then just follow the next steps to get the theme file.

  1. Go to https://psythemes.com/account/
  2. Click on “My Downloads“.
  3. Click on “PsyClone 1.0.0” to download PsyClone-1.0.0.7z
  4. On your desktop, right click on PsyClone-1.0.0.7z and extract the files.
  5. You’ll see a new file extracted “psyclone.zip“.
  6. Done!

 

Downloading PsyClone – Custom Fields

To download PsyClone you must have a valid license/purchase. Then just follow the next steps to get the custom fields file.

  1. Go to https://psythemes.com/account/
  2. Click on “My Downloads“.
  3. Click on “PsyClone ACF-Parameters” to download PsyClone_ACF-Parameters.7z
  4. On your desktop, right click on PsyClone_ACF-Parameters.7z and extract the files.
  5. You’ll see a new file extracted “PsyClone_English.JSON“.
  6. Done!

Uploading PsyClone

To upload PsyClone Theme on WordPress, you have two options, either by uploading the psyclone.zip compressed file (recommended) in wp-admin or uploading the complete uncompressed file via FTP (Advanced).

Method 1: WordPress themes installer

This method is undoubtedly the most recommended, it is very simple to achieve the installation and we will ensure that the files are complete at the end, just follow the next steps.

  1. Access your WordPress site and open the admin panel.
  2. In the menu of WordPress go to the option of “Appearance”.
  3. Select “Themes”.
  4. Now Select “Add New”.
  5. Select “Upload Theme”.
  6. Now in the pack you just downloaded select the file psyplay.zip and click the “Install Now” button.
  7. Then go to “Converting” tutorial below.

Method 2: Upload & Install via FTP

This method is undoubtedly the most recommended, it is very simple to achieve the installation and we will ensure that the files are complete at the end, just follow the next steps.

  1. Unzip the psyplay.zip file and locate the folder in an easily accessible place on your computer.
  2. Use the FTP client of your choice to transfer the files.
  3. Verify that the files are fully loaded.
  4. Now we are ready to convert the theme, Go to “Converting” tutorial below.

Converting Grifus to PsyClone

To convert your grifus theme into psyclone you have to setup necessary settings and import necessary files.
Reminder: Please follow the steps properly otherwise the theme migtht not work or stop working.

  1. Once you’ve uploaded PsyClone theme. Go to “Appearance” > “Themes“.
  2. In “PsyClone” theme  “Activate“.
  3. Go to “Appearance” >  “Theme License“
  4. Remove your current license,  add your PsyClone License Key & click “Save Changes“.
  5. Then click “Activate License“.
  6. Now go to “Appearance” >  “PsyClone Options“
  7. Click  “Save changes“.
  8. Then Go to “Settings” > “Permalinks“
  9. In “Common Settings” select “Post name“.
  10. Click “Save changes“.
  11. Then go to “Custom Fields” > “Fields Group“.
  12. Select all the fields/group and in dropdown select “Move to trash“, then click “Apply“.
  13. Now go to “Custom Fields” > “Tools“
  14. In “Select a file” click “Choose File”.
  15. Upload the PsyClone_English.JSON you extracted earlier.
  16. Click “Import” and Done!
